At Dream Buildz Studio, we love turning bold ideas into immersive, real-world experiences. When Tucson’s local tiki bar Cabali approached us about creating a giant 3D version of their custom tiki mug, we knew this project was going to be something special.
The goal? Transform their signature mug design into a towering, photo-ready centerpiece that would capture attention, reflect their brand personality, and create an unforgettable first impression.
From Mug to Monument
Cabali’s custom tiki mugs are packed with personality — expressive features, sculptural curves, and intricate detailing that give them their distinct character. Our challenge was to preserve those details while scaling the design up dramatically.
Using digital sculpting techniques, our team translated the original mug into a large-scale 3D model. From there, we fabricated the piece from high-density foam, carefully carving and refining every contour to maintain the integrity of the design.
Scaling up a product replica isn’t just about making it bigger — it’s about ensuring the proportions, depth, and facial expressions still feel authentic at monumental size. Every curve and indentation had to be exaggerated just enough to read correctly from a distance while staying true to the original form.
Fabrication & Finish
Once carved, the sculpture was sealed, reinforced, and hand-finished to achieve a durable, smooth surface suitable for an outdoor setting. The final paint treatment brought out the rich green tones and subtle shading that give the tiki its dramatic presence — day or night.
To complete the installation, we incorporated tropical accents at the base to enhance the immersive island vibe Cabali is known for.

Now standing proudly outside Cabali, the oversized tiki mug serves as:
