Turning Your Event Into an Experience With Custom (and Affordable!) Foam Sculptures

We’ve been teasing some big foam-sculpture-related projects on our socials, so foam is stuck on our mind (and in our hair and clothes…)! But none of these projects are finished quite yet, so I wanted to throwback to 2023 when we helped bring Narnia to life for Mercedes Phoenix’s Christmas Party!

First Things First

Mercedes didn’t want to go with the traditional balloons, banners, and flowers for their Christmas party – they were looking for an experience. Their team wanted to bring the fantastical world of Narnia to life in a hotel ballroom, and that is no easy feat with traditional store décor. To get the impact they were looking for, we were called to bring their story to life with foam characters, sets, and centerpieces.

But before we could get to work, it was important to nail down what space we had, what story we wanted to tell, and what experience we wanted the guests to have, so, Brad and Michael road-tripped up to Phoenix, did a LOT of measuring, and came back down to Tucson to work on the 3D render that would get this (snow)ball rolling.

Building Narnia

Once everyone was excited about the render, it was time to get to the dirty work. The winter landscape of Narnia called for Mr. Tumnus, a 10-foot-tall yeti, the icy Mercedes centerpiece, and of course, the closet entry way. Event construction is no small feat, especially with a 10-foot yeti to work on!

The Party

Once the sculptures were complete, Brad and Michael loaded up their creations and made the return trip from Tucson to Phoenix to set up for the party. Navigating tight doorways, coordinating with the venue’s staff, and ensuring every piece made it there safe presented it’s own challenges, but nothing that was unexpected! Projectors and screens were set, the stars of the show were put into place, the stage centerpiece was set, and the lights were dimmed to welcome the party guests!

The end result was a transformative experience that left a lasting impression on Mercedes Phoenix’s guests. The foam sculptures didn’t just decorate the space, they told a story. With careful planning, creative craftsmanship, and seamless execution, Brad and Michael ensured every detail was perfect. They returned to us for their Grinch themed Christmas party last year, and I can’t wait to see what theme they cook up this year!
